China and Africa join hands, and smart transportation benefits Africa
Chinese enterprises customize special semi-trailers for Africa and set up service centers to export manufacturing standards and facilitate the modernization of logistics
Under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, Chinese enterprises are accelerating their layout in the field of logistics infrastructure in Africa, launching customized semi-trailers specifically designed for the complex environment in Africa, and building localized service networks to promote the implementation of Chinese semi-trailer manufacturing standards in Africa. This measure not only fills the gap of high-end logistics equipment in Africa, but also injects new impetus into Africa's industrialization and economic transformation through the dual-wheel drive of "technology + service"
Customized vehicles: Solving logistics pain points in Africa
In response to the environmental characteristics of Africa such as high temperatures, heavy dust and complex road conditions, semi-trailers developed by Chinese enterprises feature high-strength steel bodies, anti-corrosion coatings and wide tread designs, which can adapt to extreme road conditions such as deserts and mountains. For instance, the 100 sets of semi-trailers exported by CIMC Lighthouse Company to Africa, through lightweight technology and modular design, have enhanced their load-bearing capacity while reducing fuel consumption, meeting the demands of African customers for low-cost and high-efficiency transportation. In addition, some models are equipped with dump functions and cold chain transportation systems, which can directly serve the transportation demands of bulk goods such as minerals and agricultural products in Africa.
Service network: Build a full-chain guarantee system
To ensure the stable operation of vehicles, Chinese enterprises have established one-stop service centers in key regions of Africa, providing localized services such as maintenance and repair, parts supply, and driver training. For instance, the third phase terminal of Dongguan Port has collaborated with Shatian Customs to achieve efficient connection throughout the entire process from vehicle production to delivery through "green channel" customs clearance facilitation measures and remote video loading supervision and other technologies. Meanwhile, the enterprise plans to set up intelligent dispatching platforms at major ports and logistics hubs in Africa, using Internet of Things (iot) technology to monitor the status of vehicles in real time and reduce operational risks.
Standard output: Promoting industrial upgrading in Africa
The output of China's semi-trailer manufacturing standards covers core areas such as safety regulations, environmental protection requirements and energy efficiency standards. For instance, the industry standard "Dump Semi-Trailer" led by China has clarified the vehicle structure, hydraulic system and test methods, promoting the development of the African market towards standardization. In the fields of railways and power in Africa, Chinese standards have been successfully applied to projects such as the Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway and the Port Qasim Coal-fired Power Station, providing replicable experience for the promotion of semi-trailer standards.
